Background

Born in 1669, Simon is the son of Desmond Belmont and became the most famous vampire hunter of all. At the age of six, his village was attacked by the forces of Dracula. Desmond and Delores (Desmond's sister) were killed by a pack of werewolves. Desmond's second sister, Zoey, was able to escape with Simon sending him into the woods with the Vampire Killer. For Zoey, Simon's survival was the only thing that mattered. However, in the process, Simon witnessed his Aunt Zoey ripped away by Dracula's monsters. He ran into the woods being chased by the monsters and the hunter whip was lost left behind in the village. Lost, weak, hungry and alone, he was found in the forest by a nomadic tribe. They took him in, gave him shelter and cared for the boy.However, he never forgot what had happened to his parents and vowed to deliver vengeance one day upon Dracula. He trained hard and was extremely gifted in combat, the tribe taught him their techniques and shared their knowledge in the art of war. Simon adapted this into his combat style making him a strong and imposing force to be reckoned with.

Events of Castlevania, Salem Trials and Simon's Quest (1691-1698)

When Desmond, Zoey and Delores were alive, they dedicated themselves to stop the Order of Shadows from resurrecting Dracula. Desmond faced Dracula's Wraith defeating it but failed monitor the situation with the real Dracula due concentrating on ridding the Order of Shadows remnants. Even though he managed to deal with majority of its members, a small few of the Order still remained. In 1691, one of those survivors performed the ritual used to bring the Dark Lord back from the dead. Simon, now 22 heard that there was a small number of priests attempting to resurrect Dracula. Thanking the tribe for their hospitality and help, Simon began his journey and tracked down the dark priests where they were performing the resurrection ritual. However, instead of intervening, Simon allowed them to go through with it and watched as the dark lord was brought back into the world. Fueled by rage and hungry for Vengeance, Simon wanted Dracula to be at his full strength when they faced each other.Arriving at the Castle later on, Simon opted to make his way underground as an intention means to catch the Count off guard. However, lacking the knowledge of his ancestors, Simon was unaware that Dracula had eyes and ears everywhere in his castle, thus the count was well aware of Simon's presence inside. Dracula ordered his creatures to eliminate Simon, however all failed to do so. When the two faced each other, Dracula underestimated Simon and soon realized that Simon was different from the previous Belmont's. In fact, Simon proved to be much stronger than his ancestors were, but due to Simon's rage and thirst for vengeance, his attacks were wild and uncoordinated. Leaving himself wide open for Dracula. Before Simon could strike the fatal blow, Dracula inflicted a wound in Simon's back and bestowed a curse on the young hunter. Following Dracula's defeat, Simon watched from afar as the castle crumbled. Unknown to him, his journey was far from over and he felt a looming darkness within.Roughly one year after his first engagement with Dracula, Simon traveled to the new world beginning his investigation into what is infamously known to be the Salem Witch Trials. Despite having a hand in solving the incident, very little was ever mentioned about the event. Any information about the trials were never documented during his first trip. However, Simon would later revisit the Puritan Settlement and become a permanent resident in what would later be known as Massachusetts his twilight years, returning to Europe on special occasions and events.7 years passed and Simon felt himself slowly dwindling away from the wound and despite his efforts to find a way to cure it, nothing worked. Returning to his ancestorial burial grounds, Simon felt defeated and believed he doomed the future of his family since he has yet to produce an heir. Suddenly out of nowhere, a mysterious woman appeared informing Simon what was truly happening to him. Pointing out that he cursed by Dracula from their last encounter and that the only way to lift the curse is to resurrect the Dark Lord and destroy him. Finding a new purpose, Simon embarked on his Journey to collect the remains of Dracula. Yet as he traveled across Wallachia his time was running short. At one point he was far too weak to make it around the Mountains but heard of a whirlwind that could carry him over the Mountains and at the doorstep of Bodley Mansion where Dracula's nail resides.Having acquiring Dracula's nail, Simon felt the strength he needed to finish the journey and eventually gained the last remaining items to access the old castle. One was the holy cross that Carmilla had in her possession, and the other was Dracula's Ring. Having gathered all of Dracula's remains and awakening the full potential of the Vampire Killer, Simon returned to Dracula's castle and resurrected him. When Dracula stepped through the threshold, he was anticipating his priests being there to greet him and report of Simon's demise only to be caught by surprise to see Simon standing before him. The two once again fought one another with Dracula being destroyed for a second time. Taking the counts remains, Simon buried the dark lord in a graveyard standing before the headstone bowing in respect towards the count being a worthy adversary to him. The intent was to prevent anyone from resurrecting Dracula in his castle, but Simon was unaware that the castle wasn't required for the Count to come back to life.

Events of Castlevania IV and Haunted Castle (1699-1704)

In the year 1699, one year after Simon lifted the curse, Dracula arose once more and began terrorizing Wallachia with his dark forces. Simon, now 30 years of age took up the task again to face Dracula and his forces. The previous two times were for personal reasons, this time around was more professional and a sense of duty to humanity. Much like before, Simon opted to make his way the long way around and into the underground rather the direct approach. His goal was to test himself against the minions that rested beneath. Like his first encounter, he was met with mythical creatures and monsters that were guarding Dracula's stronghold.Upon arriving at the castle, Simon noted that the interior differed from what it looked like eight years prior. In the past, his family tried to map out Dracula's castle interior, but it had a life of its own constantly changing at the will of its master. One thing that was familiar to Simon was the clock tower. Previously, Simon faced a female werewolf at the top of the clock tower defeating her, and this time it was a mummy from the distant land of Egypt. Yet even the mummy failed to stop Simon. Simon ventured into Dracula's massive library which contained many books dating back to centuries. For a brief moment, Simon believed that with all the knowledge Dracula had and recorded, he could have possibly been able to utilize that knowledge to change the world for the better, instead of waging war on humanity.When Dracula and Simon faced each other for a third time, it was no longer a personal matter. The first time, Simon was a man seeking revenge. The second time Simon was a man seeking redemption. This time was the critical factor to determine if Simon earned his spot in history and forge his own legacy. It was during this battle when Dracula came to the realization that Simon was one man that was impossible to break. Simon shattered a window to bring sunlight into the room forcing Dracula to retreat while engulfed by the sunlight weakening him. Despite not slaying the dark lord completely, Dracula's fortress crumbled to ruin as a result of the dark lord's weakened state, and his minions scattered across the land. As a result, Dracula went into hiding. Never before has Dracula faced such raw power from a Belmont. Dracula had no plan for a counterattack, no way of retaliating. All Dracula could do was remain hidden in the shadows whilst replenishing his strength.Simon was seen as a hero to Romania. His efforts were recognized and a town was built near his residence. From that point forward, he was known as "The Legendary Simon Belmont".

Sometime during his journey, Simon met a woman named Selena. The two of them fell in love and tied the knot in 1704. At the end of the ceremony, Dracula returned for a fourth time kidnapping Selena in a last-ditch effort to unleash the barbaric side of Simon from their first encounter. However, Simon, now 35, was far more experienced and levelheaded by this point. Despite the efforts on Dracula's end to unleash the enraged side of him, Simon maintained his composure and focused on rescuing Selena. Ironically, Simon noticed that most of Dracula's forces were scattered about and disorganized. Simon concluded that they probably assumed their master was dead which made his journey a little easier to deal with. At one point Dracula was feared and known as the king of vampires. He commanded armies and terrorized Romania. However, after the three encounters with Simon, Dracula was reduced to a weakling hiding in his castle holding the woman captive.By the time he arrived at Dracula's castle, Simon noticed that the palace was much smaller and easier to navigate compared to the massive structure and labyrinth of corridors, rooms and sections during the last few times. This was possibly due to Dracula not having the necessary power to reconstruct his fortress to its full extent and were unstable at a weakened state. Plus, the forces that were inside were fewer than usual but more aggressive than before. Despite the fewer numbers, the creatures were the same from the previous encounters and Simon reacted to each threat accordingly.Simon anticipated facing Death, but due to the current state of Dracula's powers, he didn't have the energy left to call upon his loyal servant after using what he had left to rebuild his fortress. Simon almost felt sorry for Dracula, but after their three encounters, Simon knew that it was too late for Dracula's redemption and made sure this would be the last time the two of them faced each other leaving Dracula little chance of escaping. Like the previous encounters, their battle was fiercely fought, but in the end, Simon was the victor and Dracula was finally destroyed. Simon reunited with Selena and the two of them escaped the fortress watching from a safe distance as Dracula's stronghold crumbled.For thirteen years, Simon dedicated his life ensuring justice for his family against Dracula was served. Now, after spending most of his adulthood fighting against the dark lord, Simon was able to live for himself earning his spot alongside his ancestors and became the first man to instill fear on Dracula. Due to his heroic efforts, the Belmont family name was restored, and the people turned to Simon to aid them in paranormal cases across Romania.

Since the Darkstalkers series consists of mythos creatures, it would be fitting that Simon arrives in this world after his bout with Dracula (the encounter number varies).In an act of desperation, Dracula sends Simon to another world where the night creatures exist like his world. In this world, they are known as the Makai and an elite few known as the Darkstalkers fight for control over the Makai.In order to return to his world, Simon may have to compete with the Darkstalkers and defeat them one on one. However, these creatures are different from the fiends he's used to. While he may be out of place, Simon will do whatever it takes to get home.As a twist to this, there could be a potential war between the Makai and Dracula in this universe. Since Dracula is the most powerful Vampire, there is a possibility that a power struggle found it's way here. (This would be intended to be a crossover)This one is open for some storylines with the characters of this world. Hard to say how well he can hold up on his own in this universe.

Hopefully helping her become the greatest Vampire Huntress that ever lived.This goes with a continuing story myself and #Vixen are collaborating on to develop Julia Belmont Prior to the events of Castlevania: Nocturne.

Becoming the staple of what was known to be the Age of Chaos. Since then, the Alliance and the Horde, despite no longer under the Burning Legions influence, continue to wage war with one another in both Azeroth and Draenor.Simon, finding himself in the midst of this endless battlefield, has to gain the trust of those who wish to listen, in order to find a way back to his world. However, he is faced with a new challenge that doesn't involve his blade, but his tongue. In a distant world, a language barrier may create some friction and frustration for him. Unless he can find a means to learn the languages if he wants to survive and get home.

Sanctuary

A world engulfed in darkness and gloom, Sanctuary has been plagued by the consistent emergence of fiends, demons and monsters. Each time a new evil emerges as time progresses while in the midst of a war between heaven and hell with Sanctuary as the battlefield.When Simon is transported here, his skills as a Vampire Hunter are put to the test. Weather or not his weapons are effective remain to be seen. But, if he wishes to return to his world, he would need to at least put a dent in hells forces and vanquish them back to where they belong.

DC/Marvel Universe

While separate they are similar for what the theme revolves around. In both universes, Simon is a fish out of water. A modern world with so many marvels and wonders he struggles to understand and process. Technology, architecture, cultural advancements. Yet, it may be a bit much for him to bare.He could arrive anywhere. Metropolis, Gotham, Keystone City, Manhattan, Westchester County. The result would be the same no matter where he arrives. Returning home in this scenario might be a challenge.Optionally, these universes could be affected by his absence. Since he did disappear during one of his fights against Dracula, the timeline may have diverted to world where humanity struggles to survive. The human population could be on the brink of extinction with the mightiest heroes absent or few and far in between. The only way to correct this critical error is for Simon to find a way back to the era he belongs and ensure that the Belmont Legacy flourishes and keeps Dracula at bay.

While a more modern setting, Simon would most likely land in the wilderness regions of Japan where most of the franchise is set in. A few things could be a factor to tie into his story here.1. A much higher rate of supernatural/demonic occurrences taking place as the new moon approaches. This could tie into abductions, possessions, disappearances, etc. Most of this would focus on a haunting site where he would need to exorcise and cleanse the site of paranormal activity and bring peace to the tortured souls in order to return home.2. Similar to other Earth variants, Dracula was able to wage his war against humanity after banishing Simon. Simon's disappearance could forge a branch in the timeline that diverts from the root timeline already in place. This one resulting the Vampires running things after Dracula dominated humanity. After centuries of war, humanity is on the brink of extinction leaving very few to stand against the supernatural. Simon's role in this is to find a way back to his time and try to prevent this possible outcome from happening.

The Globe

Finding himself in a different part of the universe as a whole, Simon uses his skills, training and experience to assist in fighting off against various monsters that threaten the kingdoms. Unlike the Witcher's, who are Monster Slayers for hire, Simon follows along the morals, beliefs and values which are commonly practiced in his world as a Vampire Hunter, Paranormal Investigator and Exorcist. In most cases, his services require little to no compensation from the clientele since Simon doesn't necessarily require the gold. However, he does gain rewards in other means as a result. In most cases, free room and board and often times, by the insistence of the clientele, a small amount of currency to help him along his journey even if he doesn't take the whole amount offered. This could gain some favorability towards him and his personal goals.However, his interference may cause some problems. Since he isn't from any of the Witcher schools, it may raise questions regarding his training and skills, especially with how incredibly successful Simon is when handling monsters by himself without the proper equipment required. This in turn could prompt the Witcher's to investigate and start a wild goose chase with Simon generally being two steps ahead and sometimes, right under the investigators noses with little realization. In either case, Simon puts his skills and services to good use until he finds a way back to his world.
